A foundation of Art and Design at school led me on to study Architecture. In my year out I worked in rural Tanzania, developing my passion for building structures and aiding communities in developing nations. My Part 1 BA(Hons) at Brighton University, developed my initial outlook on the built environment, in the conventional education framework.
After graduating I continued to work in the Architecture profession initially at a small start up practice in Brighton and then in a more ‘traditional’ practice in Oxfordshire. During work I was training with the GB Paralympic rowing team, and was then selected to represent the team in the 2013 World Championships, winning Gold. I delayed studying my Part 2 in pursuit of rowing at the Paralympic games in Rio, however I narrowly missed out on selection in the qualification year and decided to continue my Architecture studies.
My Part 2 Diploma at The CASS School of Architecture has tested my skills and knowledge base. In particular developing my current passions in Humanitarian aid and Architecture in the developing world. A hands on experience in these environments is needed, to understand the context one is designing in. I have a range of experience in these environments, from Africa to South America and in the UK.
Outside of Architecture, I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, which I can then use to enhance my work.
